God wants us to seek him first

Its 3 days after the crucifixion of Jesus. The disciples are in hiding in fear that they will be killed. All seems lost. Mary on the other hand goes, she goes to seek Jesus.
She does not know that Jesus has risen but she goes anyway.
She is afraid and scared and disheartened but she goes anyway.
She goes to meet with a dead man. she is confused and lost but she goes anyway.
She arrives at the grave and the stone has been moved. She goes in and finds Jesus is gone. Her first thought is where has He been taken? It is here that Jesus meets Mary. It is here that Jesus makes Himself known.
She does not know who she is talking to at first, the gardener perhaps. She asks where Jesus is? I can imagine being in her shoes and not even thinking about who this person is who is standing before me as all she wants is Jesus. All she wants is to find Jesus.
It is here Jesus meets with Mary. It is Mary who seeks for the man she loved dearly. She risks her life and her reputation to seek Him. Jesus appears to Mary first because she was earnestly seeking Him. He comforts her first and gives her the message to tell the others that He is alive and has risen from the grave. He tells her to go quickly and not to hold onto Him as the good news is meant to be given to those who are lost and discouraged, those that are afraid and in need to a hope. He gives good news to those who earnestly seek him. He gives them a message to tell others.

Sometimes we feel like God is on longer with us, like we have been left alone in the dark and we feel discouraged and afraid and hopeless. The question we should be asking is.... are we still seeking Him. Are we serious about knowing God and walking with God. He does not expect us to know what to do or what to expect but that all you do is seek Him earnestly.

So many times we hide and wait out the hard times, the difficult times, we run and hide. God will not chase after us. God seeks us like a precious diamond but we too have to seek God.

Knowing God is a relationship and every healthy relationship requires effort from both sides. He pursues us and woos us but the relationship will not last without effort without a deepening understanding of God without seeking Him.

I too have been wandering in the desert going my own way not looking around me and not listening, not caring, feeling nothing that I may be hurting the one I love, that I may be hurting God.

I realise I need to work and want to work on the most important relationship in my life so that I may find comfort in Him and courage in Him and Hope in Him.
I too need to learn form this relationship and learn how to make the rest of the relationships in my life work and flourish too.

Put God in the center, seek Him earnestly and share life with Him.
